This is Miss Theresa's 25th year teaching dance at Jean Kettell Studio. She first came to the studio when she was eleven years old as a tag-along with a friend for picture day. Captivated, she and her sister Michelle excitedly told their mom when they got home, " We wanna dance where Nicole dances! They have BEAUTIFUL COSTUMES!" So yes, it was the costumes that first hooked Miss Theresa, but it did not take long for a real passion for dance to take hold of her.
Miss Theresa cherishes the many wonderful memories over the years with her dancing family..Memories that include dancing alongside her sister, meeting her best friend (to this day) in their first ballet class (Kathy Ankowiak was the teacher) ,being promoted to Miss Jean's Class, becoming a teacher herself...
Miss Theresa is grateful for the opportunities she has to share her love of dance with others whether its teaching her own classes, assisting with Dancing Sunshine, collaborating since its inception on the yearly Summer Dance Intensive, or working at Just Dance helping dancers to find just the right fitting shoes and just the right leotard to help them feel prepared and confident.

Ms Shannon started dancing at the age of 3, joining Jean Kettell when she was 5 years old. Due to her love of dance, she continued to dance through college & grad school, majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. She’s remarked that dance is her escape of the hecticness of life and allows her to silence all the thoughts in her head and allow the music and movement to take over. While she’s participated in all genres offered, pointe and tap are her favorites. Over the years she’s performed in Kid’s Jam at Baltimore’s Pier Six Pavilion, Hershey Park, and Disney World.
Juggling the day-to-day work and family activities has made finding time to dance a bit more difficult, but dancing has always been a big part of Shannon’s life and she hopes to be able to dance as long as her body allows.
